At Wonder Afrika, we believe in raising up children to become leaders, not only in academics, but in faith, character, and service. When a child learns to follow the Lord and serve others from a young age, we believe they are being shaped to transform their communities and nation.
To bring this vision to life, we founded Wonder Afrika Academy — a place where faith meets excellence, and where education is not just about passing exams, but building futures rooted in hope, knowledge, and Christ's love. We continue to grow the Academy with one mission in mind: to prepare Uganda's next generation of faithful, intelligent, and compassionate leaders.

NICHOLUS BBUULE
Founder & Director Uganda
Why I Founded Wonder Afrika – The Story of Pastor Nicholus
I was born and raised in the shadows of hardship, where hunger wasn’t just a word — it was a daily reality. My siblings and I labored from a very young age, not for toys or for school supplies only, but in hopes of finding something — anything — to eat. On the days when we couldn’t find work, we would search garbage disposal units for discarded food. And when we found scraps, we would thank God for those who had thrown them away. Now I understand that such people could have simply given them to us — but perhaps they never imagined others were starving.
We never knew shoes. Our feet were home to jiggers, open wounds, and deep cracks. At night, as we lay down exhausted and hungry, rats would gnaw at our bleeding soles. Sometimes we were too weak to feel them. Other times, we’d wake up crying, only to find blood and raw flesh. Our mother would wrap our feet, and we would try to sleep again — but then the bedbugs would come, and we would surrender to them too.
I remember her saying, “Rats have learned how to eat without waking you.”
And in the morning, those same bleeding feet would carry us over 17 kilometers to school, and 17 back. We walked on sharp stones that pierced through wounds already open. But school was cheaper there — and education was our only dream of escape.
Our hair was infested with lice, and child labor was our only option for food. We were not lazy — we were just children in poverty, surviving one day at a time.
It was in that place of desperation that God planted a seed in my heart — to one day help children like me. That dream became Wonder Afrika.
No child should ever have to live the way I did — scavenging for food, enduring the shame of poverty, and walking barefoot not by adventure, but by circumstance. Wonder Afrika exists to rewrite the stories of children like me — giving them food, education, love, and above all, hope. It’s my life’s mission to ensure that children don’t just survive but thrive — and become the “wonders” God created them to be.
This is more than charity — it’s personal. It’s redemption. It’s the grace of Jesus Christ made visible through love and action.
Today, through Jesus Christ and the love of people like you, we’re rewriting the stories of Uganda’s most vulnerable children. No more scavenging. No more silent suffering. Just hope, healing, and a future filled with promise.
Wonder Afrika is the answer to my childhood cries — and to the prayers of many children still crying today. It’s a place where children are seen, supported, and shaped by the love of Jesus Christ. It’s where they become doctors, teachers, pastors, and leaders — the very Wonders God always intended them to be.
“Behold, I and the children whom the Lord hath given me are for signs and for wonders...” – Isaiah 8:18
This is not just my story. This is our mission.
Join us in rewriting stories — one child at a time.
"To demonstrate the love of Christ by discipling, educating, and nurturing orphans and vulnerable children in the most underserved areas of Uganda — equipping them with spiritual, academic, and practical skills through Wonder Afrika Schools and community-based programs, so they may grow into leaders who reflect God’s hope, purpose, and victory."
